Cookies & Consent

Cookie Policy

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on Margy, why they exist, and how you can control them.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. They help keep the site running smoothly and, if you agree, understand which sections resonate the most. I categorise them into essential cookies and optional analytics cookies.

Cookies I use

Strictly necessary cookies

  • margy-consent first-party cookie storing your consent preference for up to 12 months. Required to remember your choice and avoid showing the banner repeatedly.

Optional analytics & experience cookies

These cookies are set only after you click “Allow insights” in the banner or the footer shortcut.

  • Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) – cookies such as `_ga` measure aggregated visits, traffic sources, and navigation patterns. IP addresses are anonymised and Google Signals is disabled.
  • Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited) – cookies like `_clck` and `_clsk` allow heatmaps and session replays to understand scroll depth and clicks without collecting personal content.

Managing consent

You decide whether analytics runs. Refusing optional cookies keeps the site fully functional; it simply disables measurement and heatmaps. You can change your choice whenever you like.

Third-party cookies

Google and Microsoft may place additional cookies when analytics is enabled. Their use is covered by their respective privacy statements. You can review them at: Google Analytics policies and Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Browser controls

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies via their settings. If you clear your cookies or use a different device, the consent banner will appear again so that you can reconfirm your preferences.
